Aeiforia srl is a university spin-off company with the mission of exploitation of chemical-agrochemical, agronomic, environmental research with a permanent staff of 9 scientists, 1 technician and 1 administrative, plus several temporary field scientists and consultants. Owner of a structure of 1200 m2 hosts offices, labs and warehouses. Main activity on field, lab and modelling ERA of chemicals and their human exposure. Scientific research is involved in several founded projects related to the environmental and food quality.

 

 

Research interests & Main objectives

Aeiforia focuses on:

  • Field monitoring studies for pre and post-authorization of Plant Protection Products into the market in compliance with the principles of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Environmental fate assessment for pre-authorization of chemical substances into the market using EU recognised predictive models
  • Design and implementation of risk mitigation measures for a sustainable use of plant protection products

Equipement and processes

Lab Equipment: Inverted microscope, centrifuge (falcon prov.), extractors, rotary evaporators, centrifuge, thermostat, analytical end technical balance, storage freezers, spectrophotometer, pHmeter, multi-parameter probes.

Sampling Tools: Several and comprehensive tools for Soil, Sediments, Groundwater, Surface water and Air sampling, KSat amoozemeter, plus several automatic weather stations.

Analytical chemistry lab at Agricultural Faculty of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore focusing on metabolomics and proteomics research, and equipped with several GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS including LC/QTOF and LC-CHIP/QTOF.
