The Ecotox Centre is the Swiss Centre for Applied Ecotoxicology that was founded in 2008 as a national task in accordance with a mandate from the Federal Council. The task of the Ecotox Centre is to develop scientific principles and methods that enable authorities to identify and assess the risks of chemicals to the environment. Activities cover: serving as a hub for the early detection and solution of practical problems; research and development in applied ecotoxicology; and, training and further education of experts from practice.
